Tanzania

Tanzania is a safari world in one country, more than just the Serengeti, more than just Mt Kilimanjaro and more than just Zanzibar – though these iconic areas remain a huge draw. For predictable, solid game experiences the northern park circuits are seriously tough to beat… Taking in the tranquil Tarangire National Park, Lazy Lake Manyara with its pink flamingo mirage and the Jurassic Ngorongoro Crater will no doubt provide an adventure you’ll forever relive. But there is more.

To the west lies Lake Victoria, the Mahale Mountains and a hidden world where chimpanzees clatter down from the steep forest sides to the beach. Here you are cut off from everything else bar the unique mountainous, lakeshore environment where shoes and watches are cast aside for another day, or two, or three… Greystoke Mahale is uniquely designed and positioned, and has to be one of our very favourite spots to escape to.
